Just two months since it was abruptly forced to close, Pacifico's, the American-Brazilian restaurant by former Back Forty chef Shanna Pacifico, is popping back up in Crown Heights. On May 5 and 6, Pacifico will serve a "snack-centric" a la carte menu at Butter & Scotch, the new dessert/cocktail bar just down Franklin Avenue from where Pacifico's used to live. Dishes include pao de queijo, squid a la plancha, and fluke ceviche, and the bar is taking reservations for dinner by phone at 347-350-8899.
The closure of the restaurant did not leave Pacifico on good terms with her business partners – who have already opened an outpost of their Italian restaurant, Aita, in its place. At the time, Pacifico sounded eager to find a new place for her own restaurant, although perhaps not in New York. Now it sounds like she's making quick moves to keep things rolling. She plans another, ticketed pop-up at Grape & Grain in the East Village on May 12, and quite possibly more down the road.
