The restaurant at Montauk hotspot/adult summer camp Ruschmeyer's will get some new kitchen staff this summer. Brothers Eli and Max Sussman, who are working on a Middle Eastern restaurant somewhere on the Lower East Side will be co-executive chefs. They'll collaborate with Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte and Melia Marden, of The Smile, who have spent the past two summers out in the Hamptons (sweet gig if you can get it). During regular restaurant hours the kitchen will offer a seasonal seafood menu, but the Sussmans plan to offer a late night menu too that will focus on the Middle Eastern food they're developing for their first solo project. Last month, the duo started testing out recipes for chicken shwarma, a beet and tahini dip, and fresh pita at Threes Brewing in Gowanus. Ruschmeyer's opens May 22. Check back next week for the menus.
