Members of the NYC chapter of the Tartine bakery cult rejoiced yesterday when news dropped that the SF bread temple is merging with Blue Bottle Coffee and expanding east. Details about when baker Chad Robertson and pastry chef Elisabeth Prueitt's coveted loaves and morning buns will land in New York are still scant, but a representative tells Eater that the team is looking at Brooklyn for its first location, and should settle on something in May. Will it be part of part of the new Williamsburg BLue Bottle location that's in the works? Or perhaps the Park Slope Blue Bottle outlet that's currently behind plywood? Our bets are on the Williamsburg shop, or some new space, but anything is fair game at this point. Meanwhile, Manhattanites who refuse to cross the East River will have to wait until 2017 for their outpost.
