Porchlight Finally Cooking With Gas, Debuting Southern Fare Tomorrow

Expect a daily po' boy, fried oysters, and a "double trouble" bison burger.

Hospitality king Danny Meyer opened his first bar, Porchlight a solid six weeks ago, but because of some delays, the kitchen is just getting cooking now. The team got its gas hookup recently and plans to start serving lunch and dinner tomorrow. The concise food menu comes from Blue Smoke chef and son of the south Jean-Paul Bourgeois and fits in with the bar's southern theme: think boiled peanut "hummus," fried oysters, a daily po' boy, and a "double trouble" bison burger.

To go with that fare, there are of course drinks from head bartender Nicholas Bennett, late of Booker & Dax, and former Blue Smoke beverage director Michael Shain, which have been available since the opening. Check out the full drinks and food menu below.
