Weird Pizza Whiz Peter Entner Cuts Ties With Zaaz, But Plans Boomwich Pizza Nights

That baked potato pie will make a comeback at Entner's Atlantic Avenue sandwich shop.

Peter Entner has had an on-again, off-again relationship with Pete Zaaz, the quirky pizzeria he opened in Crown Heights. But, today, Entner tells Eater he is officially done. The restaurant closed last summer amid fights between Entner and his businesses partners, but then news came that Entner had bought back the businesses and planned to reopen it. The restaurant soft reopened last week as Zaaz Pizza with Entner's help, but the chef told Eater he was still negotiating his role there. Now he says: "The negotiations didn't go well. I will not have any future involvement there." He accuses the current owners of "using my name everywhere. Even trying to imitate my baked potato pizza along with some other items on my original menu." Without a new website, a Google search for the place turns up the old Pete Zaaz page with Entner's picture and menu.

Lately, Entner has been concentrating on his equally oddball sandwich shop, Boomwich on Atlantic Avenue. There, he plans to start offering dinner and making his sandwiches in stromboli form when requested. There will also be "special pizza nights where the real baked potato will come out!"
