Seven bars and restaurants that are in the works around NYC.

Facebook

Gowanus: dedicated pierogi restaurant called Baba's Pierogies will unleash a roster of both classic and modern pierogies (think mac and cheese, jalapeno, and bacon and cheese) on April 25. [Park Slope Stoop]

East Village: Kabin has been empty only a couple of weeks, but there's already a new tenant lined up. Ed Donovan and Christopher Barsa, who own Murray Hill's Wharf Bar & Grill, are planning to open Ellie & Jack's Bar & Kitchen. The proposed food menu's pretty limited, with a few sandwiches and entrees, and a burger. No word yet on what will happen to Kabin's iconic exterior, but it likely won't stick around. [EV Grieve]

Chelsea: Longtime art world hangout Moran's is being reworked into an American restaurant called The Fillmore Room by Chelsea Hotels alum Marcus Bifaro and chef Liran Mezan who worked for the BLT team. The renovations will be quick, and the team plans to open this spring. A rep promises that there will be a nod or two to Moran's on the menu. [PLYWOOD]

Financial District: Birch Coffee will open its fourth outpost in the wave-like Frank Gehry tower later this year. [DNAinfo]

Inwood: Puerto Rican restaurant Don Coqui is moving into the Uptown Social space. Don Coqui already operates a couple of locations outside of the city and one on City Island. Here, it plans to have live music and karaoke at least once a week. [DNAinfo]

East Village: Smorgasburg vendor Dan and John's Wings is setting up a shop in the former JoeDough space at 135 1st Avenue. [EV Grieve]

Park Slope: An Italian restaurant called Hugo & Sons is moving into a corner space at 267 7th Avenue. Phrases like classic pastas and choice meats are painted on to the glass sides. [South Slope News]
