Coney Island Hot Dog Pioneer Feltman's May Rise From the Dead

Hot dog aficionado Michael Quinn will test the waters with a pop-up in May.

Coney Island legend Feltman's, which served hot dogs to beach goers from 1867 to 1954 and trained Nathan's founder Nathan Handwerker may be rising from the dead. Hot dog aficionado Michael Quinn is planning a Feltman's pop-up at Sycamore in Ditmas Park on May 28. He plans to sell both Coney Island red hots (what the original dogs were called), which are made from pork, as well as beef franks. If a few pop-ups go well, Quinn would like to return the business to the Island, telling Gothamist: "Eventually, I'm looking at some space in Coney Island."
