Scarpetta is expanding to Montauk. According to Hamptons insiders, LDV Hospitality is taking over the food and beverage at Gurney's Inn, a gig that Jennifer Leroy – former heir to Tavern on the Green – left last fall. The company plans to turn the resort's large waterfront restaurant into an outpost of the Italian restaurant that Scott Conant began in the Meatpacking District, and has since expanded to Miami, Beverly Hills, and Las Vegas.
Conant, however, who split from the New York flagship back in September, will not be involved in this offshoot, nor will he be involved in any future Scarpettas, though he's still tied to those in Miami, Vegas, and Beverly Hills. While Scarpetta Beach (as it will be known), is going to be a summer restaurant, LDV is also bringing three other year round concepts to Gurneys -– an American Brasserie, a Corso coffee, and a Regent Cocktail Club.
Conant, meanwhile, has been busy opening an unrelated restaurant, Corsair, in Miami. But he should be spending more time back in NYC soon, as he begins work on his eponymous restaurant Conant, which should open later this year.
