Longtime Smith Street staple and summertime drinking haven, Cubana Cafe has been dark for three weeks. There's a small chance the bar might re-open, says a staffer at the Park Slope outlet, but that doesn't seem likely. The Google Maps listing for the Smith Street location says it is "permanently closed," the phone line has been disconnected, and its Seamless listing is inactive. An employee at neighboring Smith & Vine says that the restaurant has been "boarded up with plastic." This development comes right after the shutter of Mad Dog & Beans, just a couple doors down.
