Food & Wine magazine just announced it's 2015 class of Best New Chefs, and among them is Bryce Shuman, the chef of Midtown's two-year-old, Michelin-starred Betony. The Eleven Madison Park alum is the only New York representative this year, among a list of 10 other chefs from across the country.
Last year, Walker Stern and Joe Ogrodnek of Dover landed on the list, and in past years New York BNCs have included Daniel Boulud, Thomas Keller, David Bouley, David Chang, April Bloomfield, Danny Bowien, and Alex Stupak. All of this year's class will be featured in the July Food & Wine issue, and appear at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen this summer.
It looks like the winners also were honored with a sweet temporary tattoo:
