Mother Charged With Killing Son in Bathroom of Midtown 5 Boro Burger

A mother has been charged with killing her 20-month-old son in Midtown's 5 Boro Burger, after a bizarre and terrible scene unfolded there yesterday afternoon. According to reports, Latisha Fisher took her child into the bathroom of the burger chain, where another customer walked in to find her holding her hand over her child's mouth. At the time, Fisher told that woman, "I put my hand over his mouth to put him to sleep."

Fisher subsequently locked the door, and restaurant employees were forced to break in after a line started forming and everyone became concerned. There they found the child unconscious, but when staff tried to perform CPR, the mother allegedly tried to push them away.

The child was taken to the hospital, where he died, while Fisher was taken into custody at the scene. According to police reports, she "blamed the devil" at one point, so she was clearly troubled. A friend also told the Daily News that she had been on medication, which she likely had gone off of.
