Javelina Brings Tex-Mex and Shiner Bock on Tap to Union Square

A little piece of Texas in NYC. Take a look around.

While much of New York is currently obsessed with finding the latest expression of "authentic" Mexican food, Javelina is here to completely buck the trend. Billing itself as unabashedly Tex-Mex, the restaurant specializes in chile rellenos, enchiladas, chicken fried steak, and frozen margaritas. There is also Shiner Bock on tap, which is sure to please home sick Texans. The restaurant is named after a wild pig and incase you don't know what they look like, the restaurant's mascot (Javier the Javelina) has been stuffed and mounted, and now watches over the bar. Javelina's team sought to open last year at the cursed space on 117 Second Ave, but has now settled in the address that last housed Tommy Lasagna. The restaurant will open for business tomorrow, missing Texas's independence day by only two days.

Take a look at the dinner menu below and the drinks menu (avocado margarita, included) over here.avelina Dinner Menu
