Rockaway Taco, the ramshackle taco stand where you'd find every beach-going hipster waiting in line come summer, sadly won't be returning to its spot at Beach 96th Street this summer and co-owners Andrew Field and David Selig have parted ways. But it's not all bad news, reports the Rockaway Times. Field will open Tacoway Beach shop at the Rockaway Beach Surf Club, at Beach 87th Street. Here, there will be more seating, plus alcohol to go with those tacos. Meanwhile, Selig plans to launch a mobile taco shack that will roam the country. In 2016, he plans to return to the original Rockaway Taco spot either with his truck or with a brick and mortar taco shop.
