Ex-Atlanta chef Guenter Seeger won't open his tasting menu restaurant Guenter Seeger NY until late June (according to a representative's recent report), but Seeger already has his liquor license in hand. It's a small but significant step forward, and one that must be a big relief to Seeger, given the local Community Board's resistance some months ago. There's no word yet on what the drinks menu and wine list will look like, but it should pair well with some of the intriguing dishes Seeger has been testing out, like king crab with vanilla sauce, dover sole with sorrel sauce, and scallop ceviche with Timtum pepper.
On his great adventure to the SLA office in Harlem, Seeger managed to stop in for a feast at Marcus Samuelsson's Red Rooster.
