Dinner and Dancing at the 21 Club; Celebrate Persian New Years at Porsena

MIDTOWN — The 21 Club is hosting an old school-inspired evening of dinner and dancing on March 7 at 7 p.m. The menu includes foie gras terrine, steak and creamed spinach with chanterelles and Bordelaise sauce, and cheesecake with blood orange coulis. EAST VILLAGE — Cookbook author and chef Louisa Shafia is cooking a Norooz (Persian New Year) feast at Porsena on March 16. The $55 menu includes yogurt with cucumber and mint; a bean, herb and noodle soup; smoked fish and herb omelet; fish with tamarind and barberries, and more. Drinks, tax, and tip are not included. QUEENS — A project called the Queens International Night Market hopes to host a Saturday evening night market from April through October near the New York Hall of Science. The goal is to bring 100 vendors to sell street food, offer games, music, and shopping. A Kickstarter campaign is underway to raise $100,000. [EaterWire]
