The chef just signed a 15 year lease.

In May 2013, Jared Sippel announced he was leaving Boulder's acclaimed Frasca Food & Wine to move to New York and helm the kitchen at Brooklyn Fare's Manhattan outpost. The restaurant kept "almost" opening, but waiting for opening night has become an exercise in the virtue of patience. Sippel finally left the team in March 2014.

Now, a credible tipster tells Eater that Sippel has signed a 15 year lease for his own restaurant near in the Flatiron. In addition to his stints in Colorado, Sippel worked at the two Michelin starred restaurants Quince in SF and l'Oustau de Baumanière near Avignon, France. Considering his background, French fare seem the most likely possibility for this restaurant, but anything is possible. Eater has reached out Sippel, so stay tuned.
