Classic bagel bakery and appetizing shop Ess-A-Bagel will cool its ovens on 1st Avenue in exactly a week, reports EV Grieve. The bagel shop owners have claimed that they are being kicked out of their home of 39 years to make way for a place called Tower Bagels and a Bank of America, while a rep for their landlord says the bagel shop owners "repeatedly refused to meet us between their below-market rent and current market value." Either way, the shop says it will return in a different space close by.
Don't worry fans of Ess-a-Bagel's 1st Ave location, our delicious hand rolled bagels are just moving down the block!! #NYC'sBest=EssaBagel

A note in the shop's window reiterates the promise saying: "we will be relocating in the area and will not leave our community." It's unclear where the shop will move, but according to a rumor on EV Grieve, it might end up in the old Frenchmen space.
