David Tanis and El Rey Mexican Dinner Party; Mile End's Passover Dinner

SOHO — Vegetable master David Tanis is teaming up with El Rey chef Gerardo Gonzalez for a Mexican dinner party on March 18 and 19. El Rey owner Nick Morgenstern has rented out a space in Soho for the occasion and says it will be transformed into a "rich and moody rainforest," with the help of Brutal magazine. Yana Volfson from Cosme will be creating cocktails for the event. The $135 tickets cover booze, dinner, "snacks to pluck, lush from hanging trees. (Really.)," and dessert from Morgenstern's ice cream shop. [GS]

AROUND TOWN — OpenTable is hosting 100 dinners around the country on April 9. In New York, dinners are being held at Sushi Nakazawa, Eleven Madison Park, Dirt Candy, Upland, and several other restaurants. NOHO — Mile End Deli is celebrating Passover with dinners on April 3 and 4. HELL'S KITCHEN — Court Street Grocers just dropped a new sandwich menu at its Gotham West outpost. There's the yam and cheese (roasted sweet potato, pickled beet, goat cheese, and arugula), a vegan uncle Chucky 2.0 (roasted cauliflower, pumpkin seed romesco, and pickled fennel), the droopy (roast beef, French's fried onions, and horseradish mayo), and more.
