The Camlin, the new Williamsburg wine bar from the team behind Hell's Kitchen's well-loved Ardesia wine bar, has settled on an opening date. Mandy Oser and Amorette Casaus will open the doors to their new place on Kent Avenue on February 14. That's right, Black Saturday, otherwise known as Valentine's Day. But that's a pretty smart move for a place specializing in wines by the glass and small plates, yes?
In any case, this should be a good addition to that rapidly developing stretch of the Williamsburg waterfront – before opening Ardesia, Oser was the right hand woman of Eric Ripert, and Casaus was a chef at Alex Raij's popular tapas spot El Quinto Pino. So besides opening day, when it may or may not be mobbed with couples, this should be a solid spot to grab a drink and some cured meats or croquettes. The full menu hasn't been finalized yet, but stay tuned for that.
