The owners of Boots & Saddle have finally signed a lease on a roomier new location, after the landlord imposed a rent hike that is quickly pricing them out of the bar's Christopher Street home. The bar will remain in the West Village, despite the best efforts of numerous NIMBYS. The new digs, as expected, will be on 92-100 Seventh Avenue South and are about three times as large as the original location. The building, which used to house the Actor's Playhouse, is charging $70 per square foot or $15,000 per month. An employee at the bar tells Eater they are aiming to both close the original outpost and open the new location in April. Ideally, West Village residents won't have to do without the bar's legendary drag shows for long.
