The duo behind fiery chili haven Somtum Der, Supanee Kitmahawong and Phakphoom Sirisuwat, are opening their third restaurant in the city tonight, Kiin Thai. Kiin literally means eat in Thai. The restaurant focuses on recipes from northern and central Thailand, but has a sort of shabby chic very Hampton's-esque design with white washed wood walls and mason jars.

The Menu: The lengthy menu offers an herb-y northern Thai sausage, the signature yellow curry soup of Chiang Mai called khao soi, and nham prik, which is a sort of chili relish that comes with vegetables and pork rinds to dip into it. There are also several spicy salads like the ones at Somtum Der that both Pete Wells and Robert Sietsema liked so much. To quench the heat, there are cocktails like the tiki-Kiin (Bacardi 151 Gold, Bacardi Superior, Triple Sec, passion fruit puree, Amaretto, orange, pineapple, and lime juice) and several Thai teas. Scroll down to check out the full menus, which include an abbreviated lunch menu.
