Ganso Yaki, the izakaya offshoot of Boerum Hill's excellent ramen-ya Ganso, is edging closer to opening, according to the staff at Ganso. The project is a joint venture for Ganso owner Harris Salat and chef Tadashi Ono, who formerly ran the kitchens La Caravelle and MasionO. Everything's still covered with butcher paper, but it looks like the duo has kept the arched windows of the shuttered Ocean View Diner that look out onto scenic 3rd Avenue. Stay tuned for an opening date sometime soon.
