After many, many months of delay, Los Angeles import Umami Burger will be opening its third New York outpost on Williamsburg's Bedford Avenue on March 12. This new location will encompass a massive 3,000 square feet space that seats 80, which doesn't even account for the large outdoor patio that is set to open this summer. Menu-wise, expect all the usual suspects found on the menu at the West Village location or the counter at Hudson Eats in Brookfield Place. But there will also be a few Brooklyn-exclusive dishes being added to the menu— new burgers, salads, sodas, and cocktails, none of which have actually been revealed yet. Alongside the recently opened Sweetgreen, this is just the latest step in Williamsburg's slow transition to Soho 2.0. Still to come in that relatively small stretch of the neighborhood: Whole Foods, Parm, an Apple Store, and who knows what else.
Will it be met with the same mob scene that inundated the first Umami Burger here? Or has UmamiMania died down? Only time will tell.
