Cocktail queen Julie Reiner and Susan Fedroff, who co-own the Smith Street classic Clover Club, are planning a new restaurant not far away. According to DNAinfo, the duo went before Community Board 6 last night to apply for a liquor license for the restaurant, which they're calling Sagrada BK. There, they presented plans for a restaurant with a "pan-Latin" menu, which (obviously) features a "strong cocktail program."
Better news: Sue Torres, chef of Chelsea's dearly-departed Suenos, will be consulting on the menu, which seems to be her main game these days. She recently designed the tapas menu for Espoleta, the Spanish restaurant that replaced Forcella on the Bowery, and it sounds like this new menu could be along the same lines.
Sagrada replaces a different Spanish restaurant, Lola's Tapas Bar, which closed late last year. The liquor license was unanimously approved, but so far it's unclear when the restaurant would actually open. Eater is reaching out to Reiner and team, so stay tuned for more.
