It looks like legendary punk rock dive bar Manitoba's will live to rock another night. After telling fans that the bar was in danger of shuttering, owner Richard "Handsome Dick" Manitoba raised more than $30,000 on Indiegogo, surpassing his goal of $25,000, to pay off the legal fees that threatened to make the bar go under.

Manitoba said last month that "Manitoba's was recently forced to reluctantly settle a case with a private individual for a cumbersome amount that threatens the future of the establishment." That suit was over handicap accessibility and was settled for an undisclosed sum, notes DNAinfo.

When the team started fundraising they said: "Not one penny goes into the owner's pockets, or is being used to pay bills. All of it goes to settling this claim and keeping the bar open." A portion of the funds raised will also be used to pay a firm that will ensure that the bar ADA-compliant. Manitoba says he decided to keep raising money even after reaching his goal so that he can pay off the other costs of running the campaign in the first place. That includes the cost of the various donation rewards offered (which ranged from vintage rock posters to dinner at Beauty & Essex, and a signed bobblehead of Dick himself), plus Indiegogo and PayPal fees, and the postage for mailing posters. The fundraiser ends today, but no matter what, it looks like Manitoba's is safe.
