Soho Old-Timer Broome Street Bar Is Staying Open and Unchanged

Julie Reisdorff has taken over her father's bar and signed a new lease.

Despite rumors of its impending closure, longtime Soho resident Broome Street Bar isn't going anywhere anytime soon — the team just signed a five year lease, reports Tribeca Citizen. But, that team isn't made up of who the Post and Eater thought. Last summer, following the death of longtime owner Kenn Reisdorff at the age of 92, it was reported that the bar was sold to Jon Krasner, who runs the Harlow. Supposedly, Krasner planned to gut the space and reopen it as something more modern. That, however, was all untrue, says a manager at the bar. Reisdorff's daughter Julie has taken over the bar and plans to keep it just as it is.
