The Camlin, a Clean, Modern Williamsburg Wine Bar from the Ardesia Team

Take a look around Brooklyn's stylish new wine bar.

Mandy Oser and chef Amorette Casaus, the duo behind the well-liked Manhattan wine bar Ardesia, opened their new Williamsburg project The Camlin over the weekend. The new space is airy and modern, without much decoration, but for some modern lamps and a shiny blue wall behind the bar. Another wall here is — like at Ardesia — coated with chalkboard paint. Though it's fresh and clean in these photos (taken ahead of the opening), that wall should be used to display the menu, the same way it is at Ardesia.

Curved backs on the bar stools, plus a long banquette along the wall allow diners to settle in for a while and work their way through the 20 wines available. Casaus's menu is intended primarily for snacking, but making a dinner out of it wouldn't be hard. There are numerous cheeses, meats, plus dishes like braised short ribs, and a whole grilled trout. Brunch will launch in the coming weeks.
