Georges Briguet, the 77-year-old owner of haute French restaurant Le Périgord, may be facing jail time, reports the Daily News. The legendary host, who still works at the restaurant regularly in his signature tuxedo, is pleading guilty to a tax felony. His defense lawyer Brian Ketcham won't say what the charge is exactly, but promises that it has nothing to do with the restaurant. Since the court case is being heard on Long Island, where Briguet has a house, that seems to match up. Still, it's hard to imagine Le Périgord running as it does now with Briguet behind bars.
