Just three months shy of celebrating its two year-anniversary, Peter Poulakakos's Bowery restaurant Bacchanal has closed for good. Poulakakos, the restaurateur behind The Dead Rabbit and Harry's Italian, teamed up with chef Scott Bryan to open Bacchanal in early 2014. Four months after opening, Bryan departed and chef Craig Hopson took his place. Today Bowery Boogie notes that the space on the corner of Broome and Bowery is quiet and its windows are covered in butcher paper. Bacchanal Downstairs — the bar the team opened in March of this year underneath the restaurant — has shuttered as well.
