Take a Look Inside Autre Kyo Ya, a New French-Japanese Spot in the East Village

Here is a look around Autre Kyo Ya, now open in the East Village. The restaurant is a spinoff of the acclaimed Kyo Ya but offers a menu that has more of a Western influence than the strictly Japanese affair of its older sibling. Autre Kyo Ya is also more affordable. The warm, inviting room is lined with blond wood and boasts a high ceiling spanned by large beams. The large time piece on the wall will take longtime denizens of the East Village back to the days of defunct diner Around The Clock, but otherwise the space is all brand new.
