Sushi Zo, one of the top omakase restaurants in Los Angeles, has opened in New York with its acclaimed sushi tasting menu. The new restaurant, located in Greenwich Village at 88 West 3rd St., is listed as "soft open" on Sushi Zo's website and it's now accepting reservations.
Chef and owner Keizo Seki has two other locations of Sushi Zo, both in LA. The upscale sushi spot — which only serves a tasting menu that's currently about $160 — is known as one of the more expensive meals in LA. But it's also known as one of the best sushi-only restaurants in the city, and Seki has been earning spots on best sushi lists in LA for years.
Sushi Zo could not immediately be reached for further information on pricing and seating for New York, but diners can expect a similar menu consisting only of the chef's choices in traditional Japanese sushi. Seki is also very serious about the experience — locations in LA have been known to ban mid-meal phone photoshoots. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. If you happen to stop by this week, let us know what you think.
