After a year and a half in business, Ilan Hall is switching things up at his restaurant in the Williamsburg Urban Outfitters. The Gorbals — a spinoff of Hall's LA hit of the same name — was just replaced by a new restaurant called Esh, Flo Fab reports. Hall confirmed the switcheroo via his Instagram yesterday: "So here it is. The big news. The Gorbals has always embraced evolution. It's time to get back to our roots. We are now Esh. Fire. Smoke. Spice. Israeli barbecue."

Esh, which means fire in Hebrew, will make better use of the kitchen's wood-fired grill. At this new restaurant, Hall is cranking out dishes like Za'atar pork ribs drenched in date syrup, shawarma spiced beef ribs, and grilled octopus dressed in peanuts and olives. Fans of The Gorbals will still find Hall's chicken schnitzel on the menu at Esh.
