Freemans' Taavo Somer and The Smile's Carlos Quirarte finally debuted their new restaurant Le Turtle to the public last week, months after hosting hip private parties in the space at 177 Chrystie St. The chef, Greg Proechel, previously cooked at Blanca. The menu — previously described as "French New Wave health food" to the community — includes lobster with almond curd and Asian pear, and a braised oxtail with mirepoix, horseradish, and grilled batard. There's also a kohlrabi bisque with lamb belly, and a broccoli rabe dish with fennel labne, watercress, and pickled cauliflower. Check out the full menu below.
