Two Brooklyn pizza stalwarts, Di Fara Pizza and Lucali, are back in business this week after temporary closures.
The DeMarco family in Midwood announces on Facebook that they have opened with limited hours after closing for bereavement last week. Family member Michael "Mikey" Angelo De Marco Jr., who passed away at the age of 23 from leukemia, once worked in their restaurant MD Kitchen and was going to be a partner in the family's dessert shop Di Fara Dolce Fatts. "Thank you for following our broken hearts while we work on returning to business," the family writes. They hope to have a full schedule next week.
Meanwhile in Carroll Gardens, Lucali is open again after closing last month for renovations. The restaurant's voicemail message announces that they are open and have normal hours. The restaurant is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. every day except Tuesday.
