Elise Kornack & Anna Hieronimus Reopen Tasting Menu Destination Take Root Tonight

New, 2 comments

The space has a fresh new look, and the menu has a few new surprises.

The married duo behind Michelin-starred charmer Take Root closed the restaurant for renovations in August. The space got a major overhaul, the wine list got an update, new dishes were folded into the menu, and Elise Kornack and Anne Hieronimus are jumping back into dinner service tonight. Kornack explains: "Everything has been re-done aside from the bar. We added some mid-century dining chairs, and everything is off the wall. It's very bright and very open."

Just like before, Kornack is serving around 11 courses for $120, and she is the only person in the kitchen. New dishes include butternut squash and sweetbreads, and black rice with chocolate mouse and sour honey powder. Hieronimus handles all the service in the 12-seat dining room. Her new wine list features approximately 75 percent natural selections.

Just like before, Take Root is open Thursday through Saturday. Reservations (for parties of two or four, only) can be made on the restaurant's site. Take a look at the space above, and if you happen to stop by let us know what you think of Take Root 2.0.
