Market Diner did not go out with a bang — its final night of service was just like any other evening at the 53-year-old establishment. Photographer Daniel Krieger stopped by the Googie relic last night to capture the scene as regulars enjoyed their last meals, and the staff wrapped things up. The Moinan Group, which built two sky-scrapers around the corner, will knock the diner down in the coming months to make way for a 13-story mixed-use development. Take a look at the scene above, and for more on the history of the diner, check out Robert Sietsema's eulogy and the remembrances from readers. And if you have any stories from the diner, please share them in the comments.
