Acme Debuts Lamb Burger
Mads Refslund has added a lamb burger ($21) to the menu at Acme. The six ounce grilled lamb patty comes topped with aged cheddar, lettuce, grilled sweet peppers, pickled green tomatoes, and caramelized onions with black garlic mayo on a brioche bun. While that all sounds fairly straight forward, the inclusion of a seaweed mustard betrays the restaurant's Nordic influence. The burger is available during brunch and starting tomorrow after 10 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday.
Resto Burger Forever
New chef Koren Grieveson made some substantial changes to the menu when she took over the helm at Resto last week, but one thing that will never change is the burger. "It will outlive me," Grieveson tell Eater. The burger is the same beef cheek and hanger steak blend larded with pork fat that was developed by Ryan Skeen many moons ago. There has been one change, though: It is now served as a double patty, although a single is still available. You just need to ask.
All'Onda Price Cut
While launching a new lunch menu featuring sandwiches and ramen, All'Onda chef Chris Jaeckle slashed the price of the burger from $17 to $14.25. The burger is a flame grilled Pat LaFrieda short rib patty topped with Sottocenere truffled cheese and shredded Treviso (radicchio), on a Pain D'avignon sesame bun. It made our list of best new burgers last year.
PYT Will Open (Eventually)
It might seem that Philadelphia stunt burger specialists at PYT are trolling NYC with the repeated delays related to the opening of the restaurant. But owner Tommy Up assures Eater that come Saturday, PYT will be open to the public. Unfortunately it will be for just one day. The restaurant will close until next Wednesday when it will be open full time (hopefully).
Virginia's Off Menu Burger
The Foodie Magician brings word that East Village new American restaurant Virginia's has bar only burger, available Monday through Thursday:
