Construction is well under way at Jean-Georges Vongerichten,'s long awaited vegetarian restaurant, abcV, at 38 East 19th St. (originally known as ABC Homegrown), and a chef de cuisine has finally been chosen. Neal Harden — who has a major veggie pedigree, having worked as chef at Pure Food and Wine from 2005 to 2010, and more recently at Maimonide of Brooklyn — will oversee the kitchen of the latest entry to Vongerichten's ABC empire, which is now projected to open at the beginning of 2016. The team has not released any details about the menu, but we know that it will be vegetarian, with a similar farm-to-table locavore approach as ABC Kitchen, and some items will be vegan.
