Chef Richard Kuo Splits With Pearl & Ash on the Bowery

No word yet on what Kuo has got planned next.

Chef Richard Kuo is no longer in the kitchen at Pearl & Ash, the acclaimed Nolita restaurant that he opened with sommelier Patrick Cappiello, hotelier Alessandro Zampedri, and FOH man Brendan McRill two and a half  years ago. Rumor has it that Kuo actually left a few months ago, and that several members of his crew recently departed as well.  But today the restaurant names his recplacement: Trae Basore, who was previously the executive sous chef at Colicchio & Sons. The restaurant will undergo a brief period of renovations from October 4 to October 6. No word yet on where Kuo is headed next.
