Burger Pop-Up at Strip House Next Door, Back to the Future Burgers, and More Burger Intel

Strip House Next Door Burger Pop Up

There is a lunchtime-only luxury burger pop-up going on at Strip House Next Door. Executive Chef Michael Vignola has crafted a number of specialty burgers including the Big Stinky ($23, see above) that features a custom blend of dry aged short rib, brisket, and hanger from famed butcher Debragga. It comes topped with Worcestershire-shallot jam, a fried egg, lettuce, and aged Taleggio, with garlic herb fries on the side. There is also a pork burger dubbed the Three Little Pigs ($22) featuring a certified Mosefund Mangalitsa patty topped with pulled pork and bacon. The pop up will operate through year's end.

Black Tap Now Open in Meat Packing District

The beer and burger specialists behind Black Tap have opened a second location at 248 West 14th Street in the Meatpacking District. The original Black Tap opened in Soho earlier this year.

April Bloomfield Burger Details

April Bloomfield tells the Post that Five Guys Burgers & Fries is the inspiration for the signature burger at her forthcoming Salvation Burger. Dubbed "the classic," the burger features a double patty stack. Salvation Burger is due to open later this month.

Five Napkin Coming to UES

Five Napkin Burger continues its expansion with a planned restaurant coming to 1325 Second Avenue. No word yet on an official opening date but Upper East Siders will soon have a new burger option in the 'hood, including a terrific lamb burger.

No. 7 Veggie Burger Has Meat Option

Chef/owner Tyler Kord's veggie burger at the recently opened UrbanSpace Vanderbilt comes with the option of a bacon scallion relish. The chef tells Eater that he opened the counter with the idea of getting "people to eat less meat," and while the menu is almost exclusively vegetarian the meat laced relish might serve as a gateway to a fully vegetarian burger.

Back to the Future Burgers at the Ainsworth

On October 21, the Ainsworth Midtown will serve a special burger menu inspired by the the Back to the Future films. The Burgers Through Time menu features sandwiches from different eras crafted by Ainsworth chef Stephen Yen along with hamburger author George Motz and Jamie Schweid of butchers Schweid & Sons, who will supply the beef. The date coincides with the day that Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel to the future in Back to the Future 2, and includes homages to Louis' Lunch, In-N-Out Burger, and the Burger Time video game. Prices range from $10 to $16. Take a look at the full menu below:
