After 10 years in the East Village, fondue-focused restaurant The Bourgeois Pig shut its grand old (looking) doors last Saturday. Late last year, when the owners learned of a rent hike at the original location that would force them out, they opened a second location in Greenwich Village. The new spot has a different menu, but the fondue is still around. It now comes in varieties like pumpkin spice with emmental and roasted vegetables, and a s'mores dessert fondue. No word on what will take over the East Village space, but EV Grieve notes that The Pig is the second business on that block to move westward. Gingersnap's Organics recently relocated to West 10th Street.
