A Slice of Naples Cools Its Pizza Ovens While Giulio Adriani Prepares His Pizza Speakeasy SRO

Diners will enter through a door marked 'No Vacancy' inside Espoleta.

A whole lot of changes are going down at 334 Bowery. First, pizzaiolo Giulio Adriani split from his Forcella partners and changed his Bowery pizzeria almost overnight into the Spanish-inspired tapas spot Espoleta with the help of Sue Torres. But, Adriani just couldn't let go of the seductive sauce and cheese. He's opening SRO (which stands for Single Room Occupancy), a pizza speakeasy in the just-shuttered A Slice of Naples space next door. The pizza/bar will be reached through a door marked 'No Vacancy' inside Espoleta, It's unclear whether the Neapolitan pies crammed into deep dish pans, that Adriani served at A Slice of Naples, will show up on the menu, but press previews start next week, so details should come quickly. Stay tuned.
