Construction is pushing along at full steam at The Grand Army bar, the oyster and cocktail spot from Mile End's Noah Bernamoff, master barman Damon Boelte, Ruccola's Julian Brizzi, and Eater photographer Daniel Krieger. The buildout is being overseen by The American Construction League, the same team that constructed stone cold stunner Russ & Daughters Cafe. The long wood bar and its cobalt glass pane is from the 1930's, but the team is adding on a curved extension for a raw bar. There will also be a wood-burning fireplace surrounded by a tiny mini-bar, so guests can warm up next to the fire. Expect a late February or early March opening. In the meantime, take a look around.
