George Mendes's forthcoming rustic Portuguese restaurant finally has a name: Lupulo, which means hops in Portuguese, notes Flo Fab. Much of the menu will consist of fire-roasted dishes paired with microbrews from around the world. There will also be that handy takeout window when the restaurant opens in March.
Flo Fab also notes that Hemant Mathur, who previously worked at Devi, is leaving his current post at Tulsi to become the executive chef and partner in six retaurants including Kokum, the South Indian restaurant on the Upper East Side that Robert Sietsema just gave three stars to last week, Haldi, Chote Nawab, Dhaba, Chola, and Malai Kmarke.
