News flash: Lots of food cart vendors aren't changing their gloves after handling money, making that lunch from the corner a little less than sanitary. This shocker comes from a new study of 100 food carts around the city, reports the Daily News. During 1,804 customer transactions, vendors only changed their gloves between touching money and the next customer's food 43.1 percent of the time. For reference, another study found 3,000 types of bacteria across 80 one dollar bills. Yikes.
