Cherche Midi will begin serving lunch this Wednesday and brunch this coming weekend. The menu from chefs Shane McBride and Daniel Parilla features many of the menu staples from the dinner menu, with only the big ticket items being omitted. The vaunted dry aged prime rib burger is of course an option, alongside a new croque-monsieur and a thinly sliced prime rib sandwich with gruyere. Vegetarians are not left out in the cold either: the menu features a vegetable gallette, a fettuccini with Swiss chard pesto and a bevy of salads.
Brunch features a similarly edited version of the dinner menu with the addition of various of egg dishes, including lobster scrambled eggs, plus a waffle (but no pancakes) and a Balthazar bakery pastry basket. Will this be like a mini version of Balthazar brunch on the Bowery? There's only one way to find out. The restaurant is accepting reservations on OpenTable right now.
