Elizabeth Falkner's Former Pizzeria Krescendo Shutters

Krescendo, the upscale pizzeria that Elizabeth Falkner opened two years ago on Atlantic Avenue, appears to have shuttered. The windows are covered with paper and a sign says that the owners are partnering with Astoria's Louisiana-inspired restaurant Sugar Freak, reports Grub Street. Sugar Freak has been closed of late, so its team may be making a move south to the massive space in Boerum Hill. As for Krescendo, the shutter isn't entirely surprising. The restaurant initially did very well under Falkner's leadership, garnering two stars from the Times, but when she left six months in, things started to awry and they only got worse when her replacement Robert Moorman left shortly after. Still, that finocchio flower power pie will be missed.
