Mad. Sq. Eats Returns; Eat in Astoria Festival

MADISON SQUARE — Pop-up fair Mad. Sq. Eats opened for the season today. Vendors include Breads Bakery, Brooklyn Oyster Party, Roberta's, Pig & Khao, and many others. The market runs through October 3. [Eaterwire]

WILLIAMSBURG — Natural Resistance, a film about natural wine makers that's part documentary, part fiction, will be screened at the Wythe Hotel on September 11 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25 and wines featured in the film will be available for purchase by the glass or half glass. [Eaterwire]

ASTORIA — The first Eat in Astoria festival will take place September 16 at 7 p.m. in the Astoria Bank. Arepas Grill, Bourbon & Vine, De Mole, La Rioja, Marketa, Mojave, The Sparrow Tavern, and others will serve food. Tickets are $49. [Eaterwire]

INTERNATIONAL — Lucky Peach editor Chris Ying is launching Zero Foodprint, a non-profit aimed at helping restaurants reduce their carbon footprint. The Franks have signed on for their next restaurant project, which is rumored to be in Williamsburg. [~EN~]
