The biggest surprise of today's Michelin 2015 NYC star rating announcement was the reveal that Daniel Boulud's Upper East Side fine dining palace Daniel dropped from three stars to two. But D-Biggity, always the publicity pro, quickly responded to the loss on Instagram with a picture of his cookbooks alongside a toy figurine of Michelin mascot Bibendum, and the message: "Wishing 3* got 2* still and honor. My team and i@restaurantdaniel are motivated & committed to excellence @michelinguides see you in 2015."
Last summer, Boulud's restaurant experienced a similar critical blow, when it dropped from four New York Times stars to three.
