Park Avenue to Return as General Assembly Calls it Quits

Daniel Krieger

The saga of 360 Park Avenue South continues. In the past year or so it has played host to the Hurricane Club, which was then rebranded as Hurricane Steak & Sushi, and finally opened as General Assembly back in March. Now Alan and Michael Stillman, the father and son restaurateur team behind those places and several others, are planning to close the six month old General Assembly and reopen their shuttered seasonal restaurant Park Avenue Autumn (Winter, Spring, and Summer) in the space later this month.

The team have been looking for a new space for Park Avenue Autumn/etc. since their lease expired at the end of 2013. Before they announced plans for General Assembly, Park Avenue was rumored for that space, and now that General Assembly has tanked, it looks like they've gone through with that plan after all. A few of the design touches from the old Park Avenue will be brought over to the new space and former chef Zene Flinn will helm the kitchen along with Benkei O'Sullivan (ABC Kitchen, Frankie's Spuntino). Much of the old Park Avenue menu will return, but expect a few new additions.
